Today was a good day for Phillip in therapy! He got to plant a flower and keep it and he ate a goldfish cracker. Apparently just ONE cracker... And it took a while. But he ate one and didn't spit it so that's an accomplishment. Small steps are ok as long as they are in the right direction!
I also spoke with his neurologist's nurse this morning and he is scheduling the VEEG. We will be in the EMU somewhere between 3 and 5 days. Phillip will have to be sedated in order to have his leads put on and then they will monitor him for 3-5 days 24 hrs a day. Please pray that we are able to find some answers during this time about these eye issues we are seeing!
I also had to call the neurologist because we picked up his meds yesterday and they are generic. Ugh! All his AED's are supposed to be brand name... Apparently the Dr's nurse isn't reading his charts well :-( This doesn't make me very happy. Thankfully I pay attention to these things.. That's why I brought it up on here-- I just wanted to remind you all to pay attention to your meds- numerous times we have been given the wrong meds, the wrong strength, generic when it should be brand, etc. Once we were given the wrong liquid medication and it was the same color as the correct med- but it smelled different.. He could have been in lots of trouble with seizures or more if I hadn't noticed. So PLEASE pay close attention! Pharmacists do their best, I believe: but they aren't perfect. Everyone makes mistakes.
Thank you for reading and for your thoughts and prayers!
God Bless,
Misty
