Please have my sweet boy, Phillip in your prayers EXTRA tomorrow.
He has a series of tests scheduled at Duke - starting at noon. He will be
having an MRI - due to the new types of seizures he has been having (they want
to check and make sure there are no changes in/of his brain), then he will have
EEG leads attached to his cute little head - and will be given a
photosensitivity test. This test CAN/MAY induce seizure activity (please
pray if it does - that they are mild) - we are conducting this test because he
has not wanted to go swimming when the sun is out and there have been numerous
times that he has had seizure-like activity in his eyes when swimming when it
sunny outside. THEN he will be having a sedated ABR (auditory brainstem
response) which is a hearing test that he had a few years ago when we discovered
his hearing loss. This test is being repeated because the Audiologist
wanted it repeated every couple of years (and because he doesn't like to wear
his hearing aid anymore). Last but not least, he will be having a 4
day ambulatory EEG. (you may remember him having one in December of last
year). This test is due to some tic-like events. We have
to rule out or confirm that this is seizure activity.
SO LOTS happening - and lots to pray about. Thank you all for being such an
awesome support system for us. I truly do not know what we would do
without you all. LovenHugs, Misty
